If you follow the Falcons, Saturday is the big one. Air Force plays Army at West Point, and a win would bring back the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy, which Air Force hasn't won since 2022. Before the Navy game last month, the team called it "a need, not a want at this point."

The matchup is The Diesel vs. The Mob, two of the country's top offensive lines. Army's Cale Hellums leads the Black Knights with 874 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns. Air Force's quarterback spot is less settled: five players have taken 20-plus snaps this season because of injuries. Evan Medders could be back from a turf toe, Kemper Hodges had 200 rushing yards and four touchdowns last week against UConn, and freshman Howard Fisher IV could make a second straight start.

342 yardsArmy's rushing average per game, tops in the nation

Air Force is right behind at one yard fewer per game. They're the only two teams averaging over 300.

  • Kickoff: 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, on KKTV
  • Air Force's 21 trophy titles are the most in the series
  • Army is 5-3 this season

Six unclaimed veterans received a final salute at Pikes Peak National Cemetery

About three dozen people gathered at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on Thursday to salute six unclaimed veterans. Very little is known about them beyond their service in the Army, Air Force and Navy. All were honorably discharged and recently interred at Pikes Peak or Fort Lyon National Cemetery. The burial flag, which normally goes to family, went to a volunteer veteran who keeps it in their memory.

Pikes Peak

Colorado Springs Utilities used a contracted helicopter to carry replacement poles from a pull-off along Pikes Peak Highway to the installation sites. The poles serve a circuit that powers the Pikes Peak Visitor Center and the U.S. Army High Altitude Research Laboratory, and many of the old ones had been in service since about 1980. Line superintendent Shaun Dillon called it "one of our highest wildfire-risk circuits and one of the most difficult for crews to access." KRDOFOX21 News ColoradoKKTV
