- ➤ On Monday, Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade presented a draft 2026 budget that proposes $31 million in cuts as the city grapples with a projected $15 million revenue shortfall for 2025. The proposal includes furloughs, layoffs, and the closure of the Meadows Community Center while the council considers further cuts to protect key services—public safety, infrastructure, and housing. - ➤ On Oct. 3, the Prescription Drug Affordability Review Board set an upper payment limit of $600 per 50 mg unit for Enbrel—a drug used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and other conditions—making Colorado the first state to cap a specific medication’s price. The board will meet again on Nov. 4 at 10 a.m., and the move is expected to lessen the financial burden on patients who face high drug costs. Colorado Springs Gazette
