- ➤ On May 23rd, thousands came to the first day of Territory Days with over 270 vendors and some sunshine—local vendors and police are preparing for severe weather as 100,000 people are expected over the holiday weekend. 11 News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Multiple people were shot Saturday night at Olympic Gardens apartments on the 1400 block of Potter Drive near Palmer Park Boulevard and Rustic Hills shopping center—police closed the street and urged drivers to avoid the area. Colorado Springs Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, Governor Jared Polis and the state legislature are trying to enforce seven new laws that would take over local zoning and land-use decisions—six cities, including Arvada, Aurora, Glendale, Greenwood Village, Lafayette and Westminster, have filed lawsuits arguing the measures violate the state constitution’s protection of home rule. The outcome of these lawsuits will decide if Colorado’s 120-year tradition of local control continues. Colorado Springs Gazette
