Aiken Canyon Preserve & Urban Animal

This hidden gem southwest of Colorado Springs along Hwy 115 is a quiet retreat into the juniper-pinyon foothills. With migration at an end, our target will be a variety of resident foothills birds like Cassin’s Finches, Western Bluebirds, kinglets, nuthatches, woodpeckers, and Juniper Titmouse. Afterwards we’ll celebrate our sightings at Urban Animal Brewery .
– Restrooms available at the trailhead only
– Difficulty: moderate/difficult. We will walk up to 4 miles along a trail with some steps and incline. Link to AllTrails site description
– Bring your binoculars; if you need to borrow some, just request with your RSVP.
