- ➤ The Monument Warriors will host the Christmas Festival of Lessons and Carols at Trinity Lutheran Church on Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. at their campus on Knollwood Drive in Monument—featuring a mix of youth, adults and Special Olympics athletes for traditional carols and seasonal readings. A live manger tableau by Warrior athletes will be featured and donations will support uniforms, facility use and athlete events—admission is free. Colorado Springs Gazette

- ➤ The filmed version of last year’s Tony Award-winning musical Merrily We Roll Along is now showing on the big screen so local fans can enjoy Broadway style theater. North Cheyenne Cañon Park and Starsmore Center are marking milestone anniversaries — the park began with an 1885 bond vote and the center celebrated a key local milestone in 1990. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A new report from the Colorado Climate Center shows Colorado's water year—from Oct 1 to Sept 30—was the 10th hottest on record since 1895, with October breaking heat records and the West facing severe drought and wildfires. The study noted that while the Eastern Plains saw near-average precipitation, low snowpack and rapid melting hurt streamflows on the West Slope. Colorado Public Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, crews working on Garden of the Gods Road are affecting traffic in Colorado Springs as CDOT has closed Ellston Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. CDOT said that on Tuesday the northbound right lane on I-25 between Fillmore and Garden of the Gods will close at 7 p.m. with double-lane closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.—a detour via Chestnut, Garden of the Gods and Sinton Roads is in effect and all lanes will reopen by 6 a.m., with the project expected to finish in August. 11 News
- ➤ The Colorado Department of Transportation launched a new I-70 mountain corridor landing page in November that consolidates road conditions, live camera feeds and safety guidelines for drivers traveling from Golden to Glenwood Springs — the page also provides winter vehicle safety requirements and travel planning resources. Motorists are advised to check the page to plan ahead for variable traffic and dangerous mountain terrain. Colorado Public Radio
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ In observance of World AIDS Day, the Pioneers Museum and Colorado Health Network host a display of National AIDS Memorial Quilt panels honoring Colorado victims of AIDS. The museum is closed today (Monday) but will reopen on Tuesday, Dec 2, to let visitors view the memorial. Colorado Springs Gazette

- ➤ Coach Prime said his work to rebuild the Buffs started after a tough 3-9 season—he plans to keep key players like quarterback Julian Lewis and offensive lineman Jordan Seaton on the roster. He will hire a new offensive coordinator, a veteran special teams coordinator and other assistants while seeking five to seven impact players in the transfer portal to help the team compete in the Big 12 next season.
