  • Red Rock Canyon Open Space in Colorado Springs features a quiet 3.7 mile Rim Trail loop that begins at a hidden trailhead off 31st Street behind Rudy’s Bar-B-Q where hikers, runners and mountain bikers enjoy paths rising to open meadows with views of Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and downtown. The trail, which has a 467 foot elevation gain, is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. in summer and 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. in winter—an invite for locals to enjoy nature at its best.  Colorado Springs Gazette
