- ➤ El Pollo Loco will open on October 1 in Colorado Springs as it takes over the old Kentucky Fried Chicken building at 825 East Fillmore Street—$1 million in renovations will be completed before doors open. 11 News

- ➤ In 1893, 10-year-old Lon Chaney left school in Colorado Springs to care for his sick mother and siblings and later became the silent film star known as the Man of a Thousand Faces—his early performances at home shaped his legendary career. - ➤ Viewers captured colorful photos of the northern lights in southern Colorado on September 15—an unusual sight that brought local interest to the night sky. 11 News
- ➤ On Sunday, stargazers in Colorado Springs saw the aurora thanks to clear skies and a strong solar storm—conditions that rarely occur this far south. Several viewers from the San Luis Valley reported that the display was a rare event in the area. 11 News
- ➤ North Shore Marina at Lake Pueblo State Park signed a 20-year contract on Friday with The O'Neil Group, letting plans move ahead to build a new marina with nearly 200 extra boat slips and a general store with a restaurant, laundry, and pump out stations. - ➤ Colorado Springs Utilities reported that over 190 customers remain without power along East Cache La Poudre Street as of Monday evening—after Sunday outages left more than 1,500 customers without power near Voyager Parkway and the Municipal Airport. - ➤ Monument cut six positions and ended its beautification programs after falling sales tax revenue led to difficult budget decisions—officials said that aside from missing flower displays, most internal changes will not be noticeable by residents. KOAA News5
