  • A major food provider for low-income residents lost a key service when the Church of the Lord of Glory—operator of the Manna program—shut its doors at 500 W. Bijou St. in late August. Local agencies and volunteers are working to fill the growing food gap as donations have decreased and demand has risen.  Colorado Springs Gazette

CRIME NEWS

  • Colorado Springs police and animal law enforcement from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region found dead pets in a storage unit near Old Colorado City, and attorney Eric Faddis said the case will be handled as a civil matter—clients will need to seek justice through theft or fraud claims.  11 News
  • Late Friday night, police responded to a hit-and-run crash near Old Colorado City that killed a pedestrian and arrested 59-year-old Cameron Walsh—who is held on a $25,000 bond.  Colorado Springs Gazette
