- ➤ Hundreds of motorcyclists are riding today in the third annual El Mariachi Vicla Run — an event that raises funds to help underprivileged students get college scholarships. Registration starts at 8 a.m. at Pikes Peak Harley-Davidson on N. Nevada Ave, with the ride beginning at 10 a.m. and scholarships awarded at 8:30 a.m. 11 News
- ➤ More than 100 community members honored retired fire captain Patrick Rogacki—who died on Aug. 1 from cancer contracted during rescue efforts after 9/11—with a procession that began at Uintah Street and North Cascade Avenue and ended at Fire Department headquarters. About 150 attendees then joined a private reception to remember his 45-year career and lasting impact on firefighter safety. Colorado Springs Gazette

- ➤ On Aug. 18, Jorge Hernandez Ornelas, 26, was arrested near downtown Colorado Springs after deputies stopped his Chevrolet Sonic with an expired license plate and found he admitted to transporting four pounds of methamphetamine — he now faces multiple charges and is held on a $50,000 bond. 11 News
- ➤ A Colorado man pled guilty to 21 counts of sexual exploitation and five counts of sex trafficking after carrying out sextortion against 68 children using social media—he used fake identities and threats to force explicit images and videos. 11 News
- ➤ A suspect named Thomas Barton was arrested after a shelter-in-place order was issued when he reportedly hit a man with a hammer on Chia Drive southeast of Colorado Springs Airport—he is now held on a $7,000 bond while the victim is being checked by doctors. 11 News
