- ➤ Today the Salvation Army’s El Paso County corps is hosting the “Be the Hope” open house at the Family Hope Center, 709 S. Sierra Madre St, where food, activities and games support the ‘Hope Needs Help’ campaign to close a budget gap of more than $1 million. Officials stated that the shortfall is forcing the closure of half of the center’s 31 sleeping units and the layoff of 13 staff—proceeds from food truck sales and on-site donations will fund support services for homeless families. - ➤ A driver died after their car flipped multiple times on Rampart Range Road northwest of Colorado Springs on Tuesday night & a passenger called police after walking away from the crash at about 12:15 a.m. Colorado Springs Gazette
- ➤ No one was injured when a car slammed into an east Colorado Springs apartment building on Sept 2nd just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Ruskin Drive and Airport Road—first responders found heavy damage to the building and debris on the lawn. 11 News

- ➤ Colorado Springs police identified 42-year-old Cole Vannuci, who died after a shooting last month near the 1100 block of Branding Iron Circle when he refused to exit his vehicle and fired at officers, and police returned fire—no other persons were injured. KOAA News5

- ➤ A lottery ticket from King Soopers in Parker won $2 million in Saturday’s Powerball drawing—two other tickets, including one from a Colorado Springs 7-Eleven on E. Pikes Peak Ave, won $150,000. The big jackpot remains unclaimed and will be drawn today. 11 News
