- ➤ Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers is asking the public for help finding eight fugitives with felony arrest warrants in Colorado Springs—one set of suspects including Michael John Atwood, Mohammed Adam Bridge, Edward Tyrone Cleveland, Kameron Orion Cadena, Valerie Jo French, Trinity Nicole James, Ilario Perera-Montejo and Felipe Raul Salgado-Roldan are wanted for crimes ranging from controlled substance offenses to robbery and assault. - ➤ A Colorado Springs convenience store sold a lottery ticket worth $150,000 in Saturday's Powerball drawing. Lottery officials said the ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven—3805 E. Pikes Peak Ave and winners have 180 days to claim the prize. Colorado Springs Gazette
- ➤ Colorado Springs Utilities has proposed a new demand charge that would add about $50 to the monthly bills of more than 9,000 net metering solar customers starting in October—this change is meant to balance discounts with the cost of power during peak hours and will be reviewed by the City Council. - ➤ Jennifer Maradiaga-Baca, wife of Fort Carson soldier Sgt. Tyler Garza, avoided deportation on Sunday when she was granted Alternative to Detention status because her husband’s unit will deploy to the Middle East this month. She will report to a Denver office on Tuesday—where she will be fitted for an ankle monitor—to meet release conditions and help the family return to Fort Carson housing with their two daughters.
