The Colorado Springs Police Department released body camera and drone video from a shooting on July 23 in the 3400 block of Floris Point when an officer chased 27-year-old Don Woodson facing domestic violence charges, who hid behind a bush before the officer fired one shot that did not injure him — Woodson was arrested on domestic violence and robbery charges and the officer is on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
Colorado Springs Police responded to a shooting call in the 4100 block of Sod House Trail on August 10 at about 2:18 p.m.—officers later identified the deceased as 45-year-old Tanya Burnside, whose death is being investigated as a homicide, and 42-year-old Bryce Tallent, whose death is being investigated as a suicide, after an autopsy on August 11.
Federal agents raided two Colorado Springs restaurant-grocery stores—El Ranchito on Airport Road and El Ranchito No.2 on Maizeland Road—yesterday as part of a money laundering investigation, seizing phones, cash and computers while multiple agencies including the DEA, FBI and IRS were seen although no arrests have been confirmed.
Today, Fountain got a $1.93 million EPA grant to clean up the old Lorraine Elementary School site and plan a new community center and 106 homes.
