- ➤ Colorado Springs police are searching for help in finding 13-year-old Mya Gil (5'5 tall, 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes) who was last seen Thursday at 10 p.m. at a friend’s home on the 6600 block of Tumble Creek Drive near Research Parkway and Black Forest Road. 11 News

- ➤ On October 8, 2024, Colorado Springs police responded to a call about a man in crisis and when suspect Matthew Kemper (armed with a knife) charged at officers, Officer Noah Bartron fired four rounds, and the 4th Judicial District Attorney (after reviewing evidence) ruled the deadly force justified. 11 News
- ➤ Colorado Springs Police are asking for help finding two missing teens—Khyree Carter-Holland, 5 feet 1 inch and 100 pounds with brown hair seen in Hello Kitty pajama pants and a dark hoodie, and her foster sister 16-year-old Skyler Renyolds, 5 feet 2 inches and 140 pounds seen in black pants and a grey hoodie—after they left their foster home around 11 p.m. on Thursday near Mesa Ridge High School on Euclid Drive. 11 News
- ➤ Colorado Springs Police Department is asking for help finding missing 13-year-old Khyree Carter-Holland, who was last seen at a foster home in the 6600 block of Euclid Drive around 11:00 p.m. Thursday with foster sister Skyler Reynolds, where Khyree wore Hello Kitty pajama pants and a black-or-grey hoodie and Skyler, noted for her glasses, wore black pants and a grey hoodie. - ➤ A suspect is on the run after a robbery at a financial institution on the 3200 block of West Colorado Avenue—officers responded at 4:32 p.m. Thursday and continue their investigation. 11 News

- ➤ Mountain Metropolitan Transit is seeking public comment on proposed service enhancements that include adding new stops on Route 3, extending weekend service on Route 9, and modifying several routes—public comments are accepted until August 14 and, if approved, changes will begin on September 28. 11 News
- ➤ Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade is accepting nominations for the 2025 Mayor’s Young Leader Awards to honor young professionals ages 18 to 40 who benefit the community. Nominations are due by Aug. 31 and winners will be announced at an award ceremony on Nov. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pinery at the Hill. City of Colorado Springs
