- ➤ On July 31, Governor Jared Polis and officials announced that Infinity Technology Services is expanding in Colorado Springs with 500 new jobs and a $7,050,000 capital investment for roles like network and software engineers. The expansion will earn a performance-based Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit of up to $4,901,635 over eight years—boosting our local IT sector. FOX21
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two suspects, Andrea Martin and Eric O'Rourke, were arrested on Wednesday at 3305 American Drive near Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Union Boulevard after drone surveillance helped Springs police block their escape for multiple car thefts, fleeing, shoplifting and illegal brass knuckles possession—both are booked into El Paso County jail—authorities say additional charges may follow. - ➤ A man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder plus first-degree motor vehicle theft in the April 17 carjacking that killed 62-year-old Dorothy King in Colorado Springs and faces sentencing on October 27. 11 News
- ➤ Late Wednesday night, officers responded to a domestic disturbance on the 1100 block of Norwood Avenue in Colorado Springs and arrested Marcus Curry (charged with first degree attempted assault) after he locked himself in his home when three gunshots were heard, with no injuries reported. KVOR

- ➤ Local artist Chris Alvarez opens his exhibit 'Among Artists of Stage and Sound' with a free opening reception today at Surface Gallery, showing about two-dozen paintings of local musicians that reflect his journey to heal through music after personal hardships. Another exhibit by Allison Daniell displays a large mixed-media sculpture that turns elements of destruction into art to honor past losses, and both shows run through Aug. 29. - ➤ On Thursday, wildlife officials reported a female Shiras moose weighing about 700 pounds was seen near Interquest and I-25 and they left the area to let it move safely—officials advise motorists to keep a safe distance if encountered. 11 News

- ➤ Mountain Metropolitan Transit is asking Colorado Springs riders to submit public comments on proposed service enhancements by August 14.
