ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On July 25, a fire at Highland Mobile Home Park—near North Union Boulevard and North Circle Drive—displaced a family as firefighters extinguished the blaze just before 2 p.m. and officials said the cause is under investigation. KOAA News5
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday at 9:26 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on I-70 after an automated license plate reader flagged its stolen plate; the vehicle went airborne and crashed in Missouri, resulting in the 42-year-old driver being ejected and later pronounced dead while controlled substances recovered from the car linked it to a Colorado Springs homicide even though police said they do not believe she is connected. 11 News
- ➤ Thursday morning, police reported a hit-and-run on the 1300 block of North Union Boulevard where a person was seriously injured during a road rage incident — suspect Daniel Nations is held on a $25,000 bond. Colorado Springs Gazette

- ➤ Drivers using the eastbound on-ramp of East Platte Avenue face an ongoing closure from 7:00 p.m. Friday to 4:00 a.m. Monday for concrete paving on an interchange project, with a detour that turns traffic onto Troy Hill Road (connecting to Airport Road). Additional work will begin Monday on North Chelton Road with lane shifts and bike lane closures, and road work on Chimayo Drive near Bison Drive will start Wednesday, forcing drivers to use alternate neighborhood routes (as planned by officials). - ➤ The City of Colorado Springs will begin crosswalk work near Twain Elementary on July 28 on North Chelton Road + the project will rebuild the pedestrian signal and shorten the crossing to protect students, with lane shifts and bike lane closures in effect for two weeks. FOX21
