- ➤ Joel Lang, 41, accused in a November hit-and-run that killed 47-year-old Kristy Kerst, was ruled incompetent to stand trial—his childhood brain injury left him with serious cognitive problems and the case has been dismissed under Colorado law. Colorado Springs Gazette
- ➤ A man died after a road rage argument escalated into a shooting near downtown Colorado Springs at 11:45 p.m. Thursday when one driver fired his weapon, and police later arrested the suspect for second-degree murder. Colorado Springs Gazette

- ➤ Colorado Springs Police Department K9s Loki, Nyx and Blue received bullet and stab protective body armor from national non-profit Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. Local donors included Laura and Tom Kelecy (in memory of Britta) and Jennifer Brown, Natalie Jensen and others (in honor of Detective Jared S. Jensen) who sponsored the vests. KOAA News5
- ➤ Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade and City Clerk Sarah Johnson certified on Friday the results of the June 17 Special Election, where voters decided on annexing 1,876.24 acres for a proposed development. The vote tallied 14,851 in favor and 67,312 against+ the certification guides the city's next steps. 11 News
