  • Coach Austin Clarke led the 30th Field of Dreams baseball camp for the deaf and hard of hearing — sponsored by the Austin Bluffs Sertoma Club — at Goose Gossage Youth Park this weekend; he used skills learned from growing up with a deaf brother to connect with the campers for the third straight year.  FOX21

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Saturday just after 3 p.m., Colorado Springs firefighters—responding to a structure fire on E. Cache La Poudre Street near the Bennett Avenue intersection—urged residents to avoid the area.  11 News
  • On Friday at 12:21 p.m., Colorado Springs police said that a black motorcycle traveling westbound on the 2400 Block of Bijou Street struck a white Nissan sedan exiting Platte Place — killing the helmeted rider while the car driver was taken to hospital for minor injuries.  11 News
  • Two vehicles rolled over at Uintah and North Nevada on June 21 just before 1:30 a.m., and police said one driver was cited for DUI with no injuries reported — the road was briefly closed and has now reopened.  11 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Police said a series of overnight smash-and-grab burglaries targeting vape and marijuana shops repeated a 2024 pattern and led to the arrest of two juveniles on Friday at an apartment complex on Shadow Ridge Grove near the University of Colorado Colorado Springs—one suspect reportedly had multiple felony warrants.  Colorado Springs Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • Penrose Heritage Museum in Colorado Springs is a free museum that shows the city’s largest collection of Pikes Peak Hill Climb cars and memorabilia through an exhibit called the Hill Climb Experience—it features historic race cars, safety displays including a 2012 accident, and artifacts like Spencer Penrose’s 1918 race car. The museum honors local racing history and offers interactive activities for visitors of all ages.  11 News
