ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, June 7, CSFD crews responded to a small fire in a utility room of a mobile home in the 3200 block of North Hancock Avenue near 4th Street—quickly extinguishing the flame to prevent further spread with no injuries reported. FOX21
- ➤ The NTSB reported that a fuel leak and misinstalled parts in the right engine of an American Airlines Boeing 737-800 that took off from Colorado Springs caused a fire after it landed in Denver on March 13—passengers evacuated and 12 people received minor injuries. Colorado Springs Gazette
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, police arrested 37-year-old Jason Garling for motor vehicle theft after he fled in a stolen blue 2013 Toyota Corolla from the 3000 Block of North Nevada Avenue—detectives later charged him with possession of an illegal weapon and felony eluding when he was apprehended near Centennial Boulevard and Fillmore Street. 11 News
- ➤ On Friday, Colorado Springs Police arrested Dakota Sandoval after he was seen riding on the hood of a car in traffic, assaulting a woman with a knife and damaging the vehicle on the 4400 block of Hunting Meadows Circle—he now faces charges of felony kidnapping, assault and menacing as the injured woman was taken to a nearby hospital. - ➤ Colorado Springs Airport celebrated the launch of international flights to Cancún when its first flight departed at 11:40 a.m. on June 7—Southwest Airlines will operate weekly summer service with extra flights scheduled for the holiday season and early next year. FOX21
