- ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the City of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance are hosting Get Outdoors Day today at Memorial Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families will fish without a license during Colorado’s Free Fishing Weekend as 800 youth receive free fishing poles plus they can try archery, rock climbing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. 11 News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Colorado Springs police arrested Dakota Sandoval on Friday after he was accused of assaulting a woman on Hunting Meadows Circle and damaging a vehicle by riding on its hood along South Chelton Road—he was taken into custody on St. Elmo Street and faces charges of felony kidnapping, felony assault, and felony menacing—and the injured victim was taken to a hospital. 11 News
- ➤ Police are searching for missing at-risk 72-year-old Richard Billingsly who was last seen Thursday night on the 3000-block of Reuben Drive in northeast Colorado Springs near Woodmen Road wearing a Cleveland Browns T-shirt, blue jeans, tennis shoes and possibly a Cleveland Indians jacket and anyone with information is asked to call the Colorado Springs Police at 719-444-7000. - ➤ The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office broke ground on a new substation in Falcon and plans to have 40 deputies ready when it opens in Fall 2026 at 12062 Royal County Down Road plus the facility will help cut down on response times and boost local safety. FOX21
