  • Twins Bob and Dick Gibbs celebrated their 95th birthdays together in Colorado Springs, with each having served 30 years in the armed forces. They shared family memories and marked the milestone—Dick recently moved a few doors down from Bob to help make the day even more special.  KOAA News5

CRIME NEWS

  • FBI agents raided a home in Cimarron Hills Sunday night because it housed 45—year—old Mohamed Soliman, accused in the Boulder attack on pro—Israel demonstrators that injured eight people, and he now remains in jail on a $10 million bond.  11 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Department of Defense released a memo on May 22 directing military departments to submit proposals within 120 days to cut permanent change of station moves by 50% by fiscal year 2030, starting with a 10% reduction next fiscal year. Local officials and economists expect the phased cuts may boost Colorado Springs' stability by easing frequent moves that strain housing and employment for military families—efforts aimed at saving $5 billion annually.  KOAA News5

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials confirmed that two El Paso County residents have measles—bringing Colorado's total cases to 10—and that a passenger on a May 13 flight from Turkey is among the confirmed cases. They identified exposure sites in Colorado Springs, including Maverick Gas Station on Airport Road on May 28 from 9-11:30 a.m. and King Soopers on W. Uintah St. on May 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and advise anyone exposed to watch for symptoms and seek care promptly.  Colorado Public Radio
  • The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and El Paso County Public Health confirmed two measles cases in unvaccinated adults linked to Denver International Airport on May 14, and a vaccinated adult from Arapahoe County is recovering at home. Residents who visited exposure sites, including local locations (Maverick Gas Station and King Soopers) in Colorado Springs, should monitor for symptoms for 21 days.  FOX21
