Pizza Ranch is nearing its grand opening near Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Academy Boulevard behind Mi Mexico; 47 inspections have been completed (final inspections remain) at the site.
This will be the first Pizza Ranch in Colorado Springs following its announcement in November 2025.
Red Mountain Trail offers a steep yet scenic hike near Manitou Springs with 360-degree views of Pikes Peak, following the historic route of a railway built in 1912 and abandoned in 1922; hikers should use caution on the 2.4-mile trail that begins at the Intemann Trailhead off Ruxton Avenue.

Colorado Springs Fire Marshal Kris Cooper lifted burn restrictions at 12 p.m. Friday, May 29 — recent moisture and forecasts of above-normal rain have lowered wildfire risk; residents must continue to follow rules against burning trash, fireworks, yard waste, and similar items.
Monument Fire Department named Colin Fitzgerald as its new fire chief on Friday, May 29 — he brings over 30 years of experience.
Current chief Andy Kovacs will remain until the end of the year to guide a smooth transition.
Ascending to Health Respite Care is hosting a summer supply drive tomorrow at Dorchester Park in Colorado Springs.
The nonprofit will collect bottled water, electrolyte drink mix, and other essentials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to support its Tender Loving Outreach program.
