- ➤ Artist Edward Peña reopened the local stained glass shop as The Glass Collective after purchasing its inventory to save the business following longtime owner Ted Pickels’ unexpected death in April. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday at 6:50 p.m., a three-vehicle crash at Northpark Drive and Garden of the Gods Road in east Colorado Springs injured a motorist who was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries — police said excessive speed might have been a factor. Colorado Springs Gazette

- ➤ On Sunday night, firefighters battling a two-alarm fire at the Public Storage on Van Teylingen Drive — just south of Academy and Austin Bluffs — found a body in a storage unit and police launched a homicide investigation as they examined the cause of the fire. 11 News
- ➤ Today, the federal trial for two suspects accused of a hate crime hoax during the 2023 mayoral runoff began; they face charges after a burning cross was displayed near a defaced campaign sign—Mayor Yemi Mobolade and other witnesses are set to testify as the case proceeds. - ➤ Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers is asking residents for help finding eight individuals with outstanding felony arrest warrants for crimes such as stalking, assault, robbery, and harassment. Colorado Springs Gazette
- ➤ A man is accused of trying to kill five officers when he set off an explosion on Saturday before 5:30 p.m. near Monument—five officers were treated at local hospitals and the suspect, Miguel Borja, was arrested and now faces charges for attempted homicide and arson while receiving burn treatment in a Denver hospital. 11 News

- ➤ A Taste of Ireland will come to Pikes Peak Center on Wednesday and will feature 15 dancers, a guitarist, a fiddle player and a vocalist who will share Ireland's history through music, dance and screen projections. The production will include live tap and feature dancers from Lord of the Dance and Riverdance (highlighting mythical tales and the Irish Potato Famine). Colorado Springs Gazette
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The Center for Employment Opportunities in Colorado Springs will hire 187 to 200 people this year and aims to place 110 local clients in full-time permanent jobs while more than 300 people wait for help. The nonprofit is the only program of its kind in the area and offers job training, tools and support — from safety courses to CDL training — to help people move on from past convictions.
