- ➤ The nonprofit We Fortify received unanimous approval Tuesday to build Prospect Village, a community of 18 tiny homes for young adults on Prospect Street near Flanagan Park. They will begin work after final approval at the next council meeting—renovating an existing home into a large common space and the detached garage for storage. Colorado Springs Gazette
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Colorado Springs firefighters rescued a person who fell 40 feet near Bear Creek Road just after 6:00 p.m. and transported the patient (who sustained minor injuries) to a local hospital. 11 News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A man suffered a gunshot wound to his foot near Hancock Expressway and Chelton Road on Friday night in a road rage incident, and police arrested Jajuan Jones on suspicion of first-degree assault and harassment— the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Memorial Central. - ➤ Street lights are now on in Remington Park—an installation that began after the fatal stabbing of Tadeo Francisco Villavicencio-Ramirez on June 17th, 2024, and no arrest has yet been made. 11 News
- ➤ At 10 p.m. under the South Circle Drive bridge on Hancock Expressway, a motorcycle rider died in a fatal traffic crash—while the vehicle driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries—police said. 11 News
- ➤ Colorado Springs police arrested Chad Orr early Saturday at around 3:45 a.m.—he is suspected of multiple burglaries, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest after officers responded to an in-progress burglary on West Pikes Peak Avenue and received calls of a naked man breaking into residences on West Colorado Avenue.
