Coronado runner Oliver Horton won the 3A 3,200 run at the Colorado Track and Field State Championship on Friday with a strong final lap + narrowly beating Niwot's Ryder Keeton.
He now prepares for the 1,600 on Saturday, aiming to complete a season triple.
Cheyenne Mountain junior Reagan McRae placed second in the 4A girls’ 3200 at a Lakewood race Friday morning - finishing 0.2 seconds ahead of Niwot’s Elise Hagen as Niwot’s Addison Ritzenhein secured fourth win with a time of 10:31.46.
McRae credited her improved strategy and team support for her performance.
