- ➤ The Colorado Springs Fire Department quickly contained a brush fire burning in a bush in the Chapel Hills Mall parking lot on Wednesday after it was reported just before 10:00 a.m. and controlled by 10:10 a.m. with no injuries reported. KOAA News5
- ➤ A Colorado Springs snowboarder who fell 500 feet on Pikes Peak in December is nearly fully recovered today and reunited with the volunteer rescuers who saved him—and he credits his damaged helmet and quick response for his survival. 11 News

- ➤ Kevin Wells (36) was taken into custody after he allegedly shot his girlfriend at his Fontmore Road apartment on Tuesday morning and then called 911 to report a break-in before his father and boss called in his confession. 11 News

- ➤ The City of Colorado Springs is starting work this week on Woodmen Road between Campus Drive and Interstate 25 to reconfigure the concrete median—updating traffic signals, street signage, and left turn lanes to ease congestion for motorists. - ➤ On Tuesday, Lyft sent Gov. Polis a letter asking him to veto a rideshare safety bill while women attacked by a rideshare impersonator urged him to sign it. The bill adds safety measures such as regular background checks and optional ride recordings— it now awaits his decision. KOAA News5
- ➤ Manitou Springs officials asked residents and business owners to conserve water through the end of this week after a Monday runoff made the water hazy and forced a critical emergency declaration, and they said storage tanks remain half full—efforts to restore potable service continue—while restrictions hold.
