- ➤ The El Paso County Parks Department announced that its Trailability program—which uses off-road mobility vehicles known as Terrain Hoppers to help people with disabilities access local trails—received a $30,730 grant from the Colorado Disability Funding Committee Tuesday. The funds will update current vehicles and support the purchase of an additional Terrain Hopper as the department plans to extend the program to Fox Run Nature Center in the near future. 11 News

- ➤ On Tuesday, the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a structure fire near South El Paso Avenue and brought it under control by 12:18 p.m.—two people were evaluated and one was taken to a hospital for issues unrelated to the fire while investigators began determining its cause. 11 News
- ➤ On Monday, police reported that one person died when a dirt bike crashed on the south side of Colorado Springs near 1015 Florence Ave+ speed was likely a factor and no other vehicles were involved. Colorado Springs Gazette

- ➤ A woman was found dead after a shooting Tuesday at Mountain Shadows Apartments in the 1000 block of Fontmore Road on the west side of Colorado Springs following a burglary call just after 11:30 a.m.—police said an adult male who fled the scene in a vehicle is a person of interest as they continue their investigation. - ➤ Authorities are investigating the death of a woman found in a Colorado Springs apartment on Tuesday (May 13) as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. 11 News
- ➤ The Colorado Springs Police Department is asking for help to find 70-year-old Virginia Mazi, who was last seen on May 12 at 2:30 p.m.—she was at La Baguette Cafe and Espresso Bar in Downtown Colorado Springs, wearing a black floral top and black leggings and described as 5'3", 110 pounds with grey hair and blue eyes—and urges anyone with information to call 719—444—7000. - ➤ Officials from the Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management briefed local county and city leaders on a multiagency project to design an Advanced Evacuation Plan that improves public safety in the region.
