  • This summer, Colorado Springs will welcome top music and comedy shows with major acts scheduled at local venues.   • Colorado universities and students are voicing concerns that a Senate-approved bill, which would cut $14 million in aid for private institutions, will affect over 2,000 students (587 at Regis University) when it goes to a House vote, with the loss impacting aid for the 2026‑2027 school year.  KOAA News5
  • UC Boulder professor Lori Peek said COVID-19 inspired children to help their communities during lockdown (they donated savings and set up tutoring programs). Her research shows kids took active roles in recovery.  11 News

  • El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal downgraded fire restrictions from stage two to stage one Tuesday at noon — citing improved weather conditions in the Pikes Peak region. The updated rules ban open burning, fireworks, and model rockets while allowing safe fire use in designated areas.  11 News
  • Space Training and Readiness Command is hosting a hiring fair on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Innovation Hub, 2424 Garden of the Gods Road, Suite A350 in Colorado Springs to fill about 400 positions in test+evaluation roles as it expands its workforce.  Colorado Springs Gazette
