CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Colorado Springs Police gave 409 violations for expired vehicle registrations from April 20 to April 26—impounding 43 vehicles and citing 66 drivers for expired licenses during a week-long enforcement surge that followed a similar effort in September. Colorado Springs Gazette
- ➤ Colorado Springs police arrested 25-year-old Kyle Harvey on Monday afternoon after he was accused of road rage at Platte Avenue and Arrawanna Street+ officers located his vehicle near Fountain and Murray Boulevard and recovered a handgun. 11 News
- ➤ Colorado Springs police are asking for help to find missing 14 year old Vittoria Leanne Nelson, who was last seen in the early morning hours Sunday in the 1000 block of Petra Heights (near East Fountain Boulevard and South Academy Boulevard) and is described as about 5 foot 5 with red hair, green eyes, nose piercings and a cat paw tattoo. - ➤ Colorado Springs Police are asking for help finding 14-year-old Vittoria Leanne Nelson, who was last seen on May 4 near Petra Heights by the South Academy Boulevard + Highway 24 intersection; she is noted for her red hair, green eyes, and distinctive markings and anyone with tips is urged to call 719-444-7000 or 911. - ➤ Pikes Peak State College students are getting practical gene editing experience today as they work with new technology on campus — the project builds skills in modern science. 11 News
- ➤ Sand Creek High School held a celebration of life on May 4 to honor assistant principal Lance Carroll, who died on April 7 from complications of cancer. Carroll—known as the guy with the bowtie—worked at the school since 2018 and is survived by his wife Lacy and two children. Colorado Springs Gazette
