ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, May 3, officers responded to a crash at the intersection of East La Salle Street — Chelton Road after a deputy ended a brief pursuit when a driver fled, and the ejected driver was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. FOX21
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Oxzaveon Marrow barricaded himself in an apartment near Chelton Road and Galley Road on Portal Drive just before 11 p.m. Saturday, then attacked two officers during the disturbance and is now in custody facing charges of second-degree assault on a peace officer, third-degree assault, and menacing—no serious injuries were reported. 11 News

- ➤ On May 2, students at Community Prep School released their debut album, The Music House Presents: School of Rap, Vol. 1, which honors their late classmate Miguel 'Smalls' Romero—addressing mental health and grief through live storytelling. Produced by The Music House, the album has gained national attention with a single set for the NBA 2K26 soundtrack. KOAA News5

- ➤ Demonstrators in Colorado Springs walked 3.35 miles in protest against the Karman Line Annexation ahead of a special municipal election—where residents will vote on the controversial measure. 11 News
- ➤ Today the City of Colorado Springs begins a trail reroute project along the Palmer Red Rock Loop at the Section 16 Trailhead in Bear Creek Cañon Park—crews will build a 400-foot sustainable trail to replace deteriorated steps. Hikers are asked to respect work zones as the project completes by the end of June as part of a volunteer training program. KOAA News5
- ➤ Colorado Springs City Councilman Roland Rainey will host a public townhall for District 6 residents on Tuesday, May 6 at Fire Station 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. He and City Planning Director Kevin Walker will answer questions about city planning using clear, direct updates. KOAA News5
