  • Emergency Incident Support volunteers helped first responders by providing meals, water, and supplies during emergencies in El Paso County, including the recent Hammer Fire southeast of Fountain (crews received up to 190 meals over two days).  KOAA News5

  • Four teams from Summit Elementary and Woodland Park Middle School will represent Colorado at the Destination Imagination global competition in Kansas City from May 21-25. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wildlife officials urge residents to secure trash and remove bird feeders as black bears emerge from hibernation, and legislators passed House Bill 26-1342 to raise fines for repeat negligent feeding offenses to $5,000. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, Colorado state parks require out-of-state drivers to buy a $15 daily vehicle pass while local drivers pay $10. At select parks + Chatfield, Elkhead Reservoir, Golden Gate Canyon, Pearl Lake, Stagecoach, State Forest, and Steamboat Lake, all visitors face an additional $2 fee.  11 News
