- ➤ Joann Fabrics closed its Pueblo store as it winds down operations amid bankruptcy. The company will close all remaining stores — including the Colorado Springs location set to close next month — by the end of May. 11 News

- ➤ Police raided an underground nightclub in southeast Colorado Springs on Sunday, arresting over 100 illegal immigrants & more than a dozen active-duty military members as local residents expressed shock at the unexpected gathering. KOAA News5
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wildfire smoke over the Pikes Peak region from local and out-of-state fires has led Dr. Aubrae Isenhart of UCHealth to warn residents that mild symptoms like a runny nose and itchy eyes can develop into serious breathing issues, so she advises using air conditioners set to recirculate, HEPA-filter air purifiers, and approved masks—residents should check the air quality index and limit time outdoors on days with poor air quality. 11 News

- ➤ Colorado Springs City Council is seeking three volunteers to join its Lodgers and Automobile Rental Tax Citizens’ Advisory Committee—two as Citizen-at-Large and one as a Hotel/Motel representative—to advise on tax revenue spending; applicants must meet residency or work requirements and apply online by 5:00 p.m. on May 16. - ➤ A bipartisan Colorado bill, HB 25-1017, would protect the right of people with disabilities to live at home and get care by requiring the state to develop a new community integration plan by September — the measure cleared the Senate and now moves to the governor for review.
