  • Several literary events are set at local libraries in the coming days.   • Yesterday, April 18, 2026, at Schriever Space Force Base, the 310th Space Wing renamed its building (to honor Col. William Bower) and its road (to honor Maj. Gen.   • The 90-year-old Mesa Road and Cache La Poudre Street bridge connecting Colorado College to Monument Valley Park will close for seven months starting Monday, Apr. 20 for safety upgrades including a new deck, widened sidewalks, improved drainage and added lighting; until then, access is via Glen Avenue at Uintah Street.  KOAA News5
