- ➤ The Falcon Fire Department—assisted by the Colorado Springs and Cimarron Hills Fire Departments—is responding today to a fire burning along Luther Road between Falcon and Colorado Springs; officials say the fire’s size is unknown and no evacuation orders have been issued. KOAA News5
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The El Paso County Sheriff's Office began investigating a suspicious death south of Colorado Springs on Monday at about 7:30 a.m. near Crawford Avenue and Withington Drive in the Security-Widefield area — more details are expected as the investigation continues. KOAA News5
- ➤ A 35-year-old suspect, Antonio Taylor, used a finger gun to threaten a convenience store clerk off Newport Road and Aeroplaza on Sunday night and fled in a pink SUV with his daughter before officers intercepted the vehicle and arrested him for multiple charges. 11 News
- ➤ Deputies investigated a suspicious death that occurred Monday morning in a Security-Widefield neighborhood—officials have not yet confirmed the location of the body or the reason it was considered suspicious. 11 News

- ➤ Colorado financial adviser Bruce Allen said that falling stocks, declining consumer confidence & an inversion of short-term and long-term rates are signals that could point to a future recession, echoing trends seen before past downturns. KOAA News5
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Tejon Street Revitalization Project in downtown Colorado Springs begins today. The two-block construction will create wider sidewalks and more outdoor dining options along Colorado Avenue to Pikes Peak Avenue—updates that will later extend to Kiowa Street—and is expected to be complete later this year. - ➤ After 19,863 valid signatures were accepted on a petition submitted on February 26, the city council must decide whether to repeal the Karman Line annexation near Space Force Base or hold a special election on June 17. The council will consider the issue on April 8 — an attorney for a developer has requested a district attorney investigation into alleged false statements during the signature gathering process.
