  • Dad’s Donuts, a popular downtown pastry shop, announced an indefinite closure effective Sunday because its building was sold and a key employee is on medical leave, and the shop said it is working to find a new location and reopen soon.  Colorado Springs Gazette

  • Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center hosted its first-ever Bug Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, letting families see live insects like tarantulas and black widow spiders while learning about local ecosystems in partnership with community experts.  KOAA News5

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The wildfire along Colorado 115 between Fort Carson and Penrose has grown to 4,600 acres with 0% containment — 170 firefighters using four aircraft are responding while the road remains closed for safety.  Colorado Springs Gazette
