  • The family-run Airplane Restaurant offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience inside a Boeing KC-97 tanker with themed tables and aviation artifacts.   • NASA may launch its Artemis II crewed mission on April 1, promising to test lunar orbit in a flight lasting 23 hours; Colorado’s major aerospace companies and universities expect the mission to boost local jobs with 55,000 contractor roles & 240,000 support positions, officials noted at Colorado Aerospace Day.  Colorado Springs Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A wildfire burned along Highway 115 on Wednesday on Fort Carson land (the lead agency on the scene) in Fremont County. Crews responded to manage traffic and contain the blaze while no evacuations were ordered.  KOAA News5

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Colorado Springs Utilities board approved a decrease in fuel rates that is expected to lower the average residential customer bill by about $9.72 per month, though the plan now awaits city council approval next Tuesday before taking effect on April 1.  11 News
  • The City of Colorado Springs hosts a free renters' rights workshop on Tuesday, March 24 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Penrose Library (20 N. Cascade Ave., Columbine Room B) for community members to learn about leases, repairs, deposits and eviction rules.  KOAA News5
  • Colorado Springs Utilities approved a Water Shortage Preparation stage on Wednesday, urging residents to voluntarily conserve water amid below-average snowpack and runoff concerns. The system is 77% full (providing about three years of water supply) while officials monitor conditions and adjust operations as needed.  11 News
