  • Tickets for the 2026 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway go on sale March 18 in Colorado Springs.   • Pikes Peak Library District announced a new library site on the east side and will hold a ribbon-cutting event Friday, 11 a.m.—1 p.m. at Pony Tracks Drive near Peterson Road and North Carefree Circle. The celebration will include a bookmobile and student performances.  11 News
  • At Crossfire Ministries in Colorado Springs, volunteers logged 112,000 hours last year to provide groceries, hygiene items, education classes, and other support to thousands of families.   • Trivia nights in Colorado Springs run nearly every evening at local bars with formats such as Geeks Who Drink, This is a Clue, and Triviality. Games last two to three hours — updated schedules from March 2025 show drink specials and team challenges.  Springs

  • Local firefighters from Mountain View Fire Rescue are helping battle wildfires in Nebraska and South Dakota as smoke drifts into Colorado; they have deployed a type six engine crew for a 14-day assignment that focuses on the Cottonwood Fire — responding to rising fire danger amid dry weather.  KOAA News5
  • Due to an unusually dry winter, the city's parks activated sprinklers early to help plants come out of dormancy (Eric Becker explained) and will use the 24 inches of water allocated by the utility without exceeding the limit.  KOAA News5

  • Colorado College senior captain Kaidan Mbereko ended his collegiate career on March 7 and signed a standard player contract with the Cincinnati Cyclones on Monday. The Cyclones are affiliates of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.  Colorado Springs Gazette
