  • CASA of the Pikes Peak Region discussed the upcoming Dudes and Brews event (featuring community engagement and local partnerships) in a recent interview; the event will take place soon in Colorado Springs.  11 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Elevate, a national trampoline park brand, will open its 15th gym in Colorado Springs at 2512 Airport Road in late March, replacing Springs Adventure Park. The facility features trampolines, a basketball court, dodgeball, and a unique pixel floor (a tech-enhanced play zone) and plans community programs like Thankful Thursdays.  Colorado Springs Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • Several comedy events are coming soon, with Jeff Dunham performing at the Broadmoor World Arena Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Trevor Wallace at Shockley-Zalabak Theater Saturday; interactive fairytales and a fundraiser comedy show are also scheduled at The Millibo Art Theatre and The Pinery at the Hill this weekend.  Colorado Springs Gazette
  • Chamber Orchestra of the Springs announced its 43rd season inspired by poetry and literature, celebrating Maestro Thomas Wilson’s 30th anniversary (marking a milestone) with solos from orchestra members.   • Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar in Colorado Springs will celebrate Oyster Month with weekly specials, happy hour tastings and themed events culminating on March 31 for National Oyster on the Half Shell Day.   • Coronado High School is hosting the Pikes Peak Regional robotics competition this weekend (Saturday at 8:30 a.m. to Sunday at 5:30 p.m.), where teams from several states and overseas compete in 80 three-on-three matches with the winning alliance advancing to the world championship in Houston.  Colorado Springs Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mountain Metropolitan Transit will roll out spring service changes on March 29. The updates—made after community input—involve zero fare and increased weekday frequency on Route 3, more frequent weekend service on Routes 5, 10, 11 and 25, and added stops on Route 17.  City of Colorado Springs
  • The El Paso County Veterans Services will host a Veterans Claims Clinic on Wednesday, March 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fountain Police Department (222 N. Santa Fe Avenue), where eligible veterans, dependents, and survivors will get help with VA benefits on a first-come, first-served basis.  El Paso County
  • Colorado legislators are proposing to eliminate swipe fees on sales taxes to save businesses tens of thousands of dollars a year & help restaurants save about $26,000 annually. The bill, aimed at large banks with at least $60 billion in assets, would simplify financial practices and boost economic stability.  Colorado Springs Gazette

  • Apartment construction fell to a decade low at the end of 2025 as developers struggled to fill affordable and market-rate units + demand shifted, prompting a reassessment of future housing projects in Colorado.   • The Avalanche acquired veteran center Nicolas Roy from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for conditional picks ahead of Friday's road game in Dallas.
