- ➤ The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a draft IFR-EA for the Spring Creek Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration project in Colorado Springs, inviting public comments until March 26 & planning construction in winter from 2027 to 2030. City of Colorado Springs
- ➤ Water officials remained divided over new Colorado River rules after the Feb. 14 deadline passed (snowpack was below normal and runoff forecasts were weak, leaving Southern Colorado communities facing water uncertainty and planning for potential cuts). Colorado Springs Business Journal
- ➤ Firefighters contained 30 percent of the Range 127a fire at training grounds at Fort Carson, which broke out Wednesday (Feb. 25) and burned between 350 and 400 acres. Extra help came from area fire districts, but Fort Carson personnel now continue managing the blaze. KVOR

- ➤ Colorado Springs Utilities said the final phase of the Galley Road water main improvement project will begin Monday, with planned road closures (causing slower speeds) and congestion. Workers will add a structural lining to extend the water line's life, and the project is estimated to finish by June. 11 News
