  • EPTAM Precision Solutions will close its southeast facility at 615 Wooten Road in Colorado Springs with 134 layoffs planned between Mar. 16 and Sept. 30 due to changes in customer demand — the company is reviewing relocation options for affected employees.  Colorado Springs Gazette

  • Legendary cellist Yo-Yo Ma returns to perform with the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Wednesday, June 3 and at Ford Amphitheater on Friday, June 5; a ticket giveaway (deadline Feb. 1) offers a chance to win admission.  Colorado Public Radio

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s 10-year conservation plan received federal approval this month to secure about $1.2 million a year for protecting species like the state bird and fish through 2035. The plan ranks species by vulnerability—guiding habitat projects as climate and development concerns grow.  Colorado Public Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Colorado Springs Police Department announced that K9 Roam medically retired after being stabbed on Oct. 15 while assisting with a barricaded suspect and undergoing surgery + amputation of his left hind leg, and he will now serve as a special department ambassador + recognizing his service.  11 News

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Colorado Springs residents can now taste Dublin's famous Spice Bag at Codswallop Authentic British Fish & Chips at 3012 W. Colorado Ave. The dish blends deep-fried chips + chicken with bell peppers, onions, and a secret curry sauce, served Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Colorado Springs Gazette

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Developers presented a revised plan on Jan. 20 in Monument that combines building 354 apartments and townhomes on 19 acres with a 16-acre industrial area + a spring 2027 attraction featuring replica dinosaurs.   • The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs is preparing for the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics starting Feb. 7 by coordinating venues, equipment, and support staff (with community events planned at the Olympic & Paralympic Museum adding local excitement).  Springs
  • Monarch Mountain will debut its No Name Basin this Thursday, adding 377 acres of terrain and nearly a 1,000-foot drop via the Breezeway Lift. The ski area will host a 9 a.m. ribbon-cutting celebration atop the Tomichi Lift — a historic milestone for the area.  Colorado Springs Gazette
