  • Adam Carolla brings his unfiltered stand-up act to Colorado Springs with his new show, Adam Carolla Live! at Loonees Comedy Corner (1305 N. Academy Blvd).   • Earlier this week, the Pikes Peak Sacred Harp Singers held a centuries-old sacred harp singing event at Switchback Coffee Roasters, highlighting a tradition that welcomes singers of all abilities.   • A fatal mountain lion attack in Larimer County has prompted Colorado Springs residents to review trail safety today — local hiker Eve Walker noted sightings near her home while outdoor educator Jason Marsteiner stressed that such events remain rare.  KOAA News5

  • The Air Force Academy provided an update on restoring the Cadet Chapel, closed since 2020 for asbestos removal and repair (delays arose from extra asbestos and alignment issues). Secretary Troy Mink said the restoration will expedite contracting and funding requests while replacing over 24,000 pieces of original stained glass.  KVOR
  • NASA picked two Colorado companies, Astroscale U.S. and BAE Systems Space and Missions Systems, to develop the Habitable Worlds Observatory, a telescope searching for life on distant planets; the $105 million project will test repairable, precise optics with full development expected after next year's Roman telescope launch.  Colorado Springs Gazette
  • Federal regulators on Friday rejected Colorado’s haze-reduction plan that would force coal plant closures to improve air quality in national parks — the state must now revise its plan within two years while continuing its planned clean energy measures.  Colorado Springs Gazette
  • Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance received a $2.5M grant from the Colorado Outdoor Regional Partnerships Initiative to fund new trail segments, camping expansion, and wildlife habitat restoration in the region.   • Colorado Springs Airport will open a Global Entry Enrollment Center on Jan. 13 to give pre-approved travelers faster customs + TSA PreCheck screenings.
