About this event

Plan now to attend the Black Rose Society Blues Jam on 4th Thursdays at the All Souls Unitarian Church led by Ray D., longtime blues musician and music instructor in the Pike Peak region. Come on out and play along to 20th century blues songs spanning a wide spectrum of artists from Irving Berlin to Robert Johnson to Muddy Waters to Jimi Hendrix.

NOTE WELL: DUE TO A RECENT SECURITY INCIDENT, THE DOORS WILL BE LOCKED SHORTLY AFTER THE SCHEDULED START TIME. IF YOU ARRIVE LATE AND THE DOOR IS LOCKED, KNOCK LOUDLY AND SOMEONE SHOULD COME LET YOU IN.

Please visit the Black Rose website to download the latest songbook version here: songbooks available to download

Note well: Mark K put together a Spotify playlist ( https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7CBYdhPQN1MjARPY841MTb?si=1bbee4490bae46a9 ) for those wanting to learn and practice the songs before the actual jam! Thanks, Mark!

Some details about All Souls Church (which we greatly appreciate hosting us):

• All Souls is at the southwest corner of Dale and Tejon, just south of Colorado College. Aerial view here, click photo of All Souls for a map.

• Parking is in a lot directly to the west of the church. Although the lot is owned by Colorado College, parking is free in the evenings after 6PM.

• All access to the building is through the rear ramp and door; ramp is on the southwest side of the church. A host from the church will have the door open by 6:15 P.M.

• WiFi access is through the "ASUUC" network, password is 730ntejon

• Also, we'll have our usual donation bucket, and donations are split between All Souls and the Black Rose.

P.S. Other jam details, consistent for all our Black Rose jams:

• Please be careful to note the jam location and time. Check our jam page for the latest schedule. Check our locations page for aerial maps, with links to Google Maps.

• Most jam formats have songbooks available to download from our website.

P.P.S. Are you wondering if you should be a Black Rose member if you only come to Black Rose jams and not the Friday concerts? (Members get a great discount at concerts!) If your finances are tight, we appreciate your monetary donations at the jams you attend. On the other hand, if you want to provide steady and continuous support of all our community-focused events, consider our sustaining membership option (see https://www.blackroseacoustic.org/membership ) And thank you, however you choose to support the Black Rose!
