Colorado Springs Utilities proposed a 2.4% natural gas rate increase starting April 1 that will raise the average residential bill by about $6.47—pending a City Council vote on March 25. The move comes as increased national gas prices and export demand drive up costs.

Academy D-20 board president Aaron Salt resigned at a special meeting Tuesday night and his resignation will take effect on June 1 (he began work as Woodland Park RE-2 interim superintendent earlier this month after Ken Witt resigned); the board also named Amy Shandy as its new president and Derrick Wilburn as treasurer while it begins to search for a temporary member to fill his seat until the November election.
